How to use this

  • What it builds

    The medium sheet adds more shapes and two changes of each kind, so the child has to check every shape rather than scanning for one obvious gap. Size changes are the hardest to see because the shape is still there, which asks the child to compare sizes as well as shapes and colours.

  • Ready when

    A child who finished the easy spot-the-difference sheet with ease is ready.

  • How to run it

    Print one copy. Work across each row in turn, comparing the shape in the same place in both pictures. Circle each difference as it is found. If a child finds only four, ask them to check the shapes that look the same size. Ten minutes is plenty. Both UK (A4) and US (Letter) paper sizes print from the same download.
