How to use this
What it builds
Thirteen points sits between the 1-to-10 and 1-to-20 sheets in this set, and the rocket shape — nose cone, body, two fins, and a flame — has more direction changes than the plain star at a similar point count, so a child has to look more carefully at where each numbered dot actually sits rather than anticipating a repeating pattern. Space and vehicles are also reliably high-interest subjects at this age, which helps a child who finds the abstract star shapes less motivating stick with the counting task to the end.
Ready when
Best for a child who already finishes the 1-to-10 dot-to-dot confidently and is ready for a few more points and a more detailed shape, before stepping up to the full 1-to-20 sheet in this set.
How to run it
Print one copy. Count together from 1 to 13 once before starting if that range is still new, tracking each numeral on the page with a finger. Four to seven minutes covers the page. Both UK (A4) and US (Letter) paper sizes print from the same download. A fun pair with the counting or shape pages in this library for a 'space day' theme.
