What it builds
This is the same count-and-circle task as this library's farm-themed counting pack, rebuilt with party items — balloons, cupcakes, gift boxes, stars — instead of farm animals, for the same reason a second matching theme exists: checking that counting itself has transferred, not just counting-this-specific-picture-set. Party items also give this page a distinct, real search intent of its own (a birthday-counting worksheet is something parents specifically look for around a child's birthday or a classroom party unit), rather than being a re-skin with no new use case behind it. Counting 1 through 10 in one condensed page, with a three-choice numeral strip to circle per row, keeps the exact mechanic identical to the farm version so a child already familiar with one version needs no new instructions for the other.
Ready when
A child who can count a group of up to ten objects one at a time is ready — the same prerequisite as the farm-themed counting pack. Works well as a seasonal or party-time swap-in for that page rather than a replacement for it.
How to run it
Print one copy. Work through a few rows together, counting each item out loud before checking which circled number matches, then let them continue alone. Five to eight minutes covers all ten rows. Both UK (A4) and US (Letter) paper sizes print from the same download. A fun one to pull out right before a birthday or class party, alongside (not instead of) the farm-themed counting pack in this library.
