How to use this
What it builds
This one-page sampler puts every capital letter, A to Z, on a single sheet instead of the 30-page book's one-page-per-letter format — useful as a quick assessment or a single practice session rather than a full curriculum pass. A child (or a teacher scanning a completed page) can see the whole alphabet's capital forms at a glance, which makes it easy to spot which specific letters still need work without paging through 30 sheets to find them. A single page is also easier to date and file than a 30-page book, so keeping one from the start of a school term and another from the end gives a simple, visible before-and-after a parent or teacher can compare without digging through a full binder.
Ready when
A child who can hold a crayon or fat pencil with some control is ready — no letter recognition is required beforehand, since an adult can read each letter name aloud while they trace it. This is a reasonable very-first alphabet page before committing to the full 30-page book. There's no minimum age beyond pencil grip and a willingness to sit for a few minutes; some three-year-olds manage this comfortably while other children aren't ready until well into four.
How to run it
Print one copy. Go left to right, top to bottom, saying each letter's name as they trace it — no need to finish the whole page in one sitting. Five to ten minutes covers it depending on how many letters are new. If several letters come out shaky, that's the specific signal to move to the full 30-page capital-letters book for one-page-per-letter repetition rather than staying on this single-page format. Free classroom printing, and useful as a quick before/after comparison — print two copies weeks apart to see the same child's progress side by side. Because it's a single page, this also works well as a take-home sample for a parent who wants to see the format before committing to the full 30-page book, or as a waiting-room or car-ride activity where a full book isn't practical. Keep a few printed copies on hand for exactly that kind of unplanned five-minute window, since it needs no setup beyond a pencil. Print it in black and white for everyday practice, since the letterforms are what matters here, not color — that also keeps a class set cheap enough to hand out freely without worrying about printer costs. A4 and Letter versions are both included in the download, so the same file prints correctly on either UK or US paper without any resizing.
